Isaiah Berlin Day in Riga 2020

The 11th Isaiah Berlin Day in Riga will take place on March 23 2020 at the premises of the National Library of Latvia. TheFoundation for Open Society DOTS, The Isaiah Berlin Association of Latvia and the National Library of Latvia  invite everyone to celebrate the legacy of the renowned Riga-born philosopher and historian of ideas, Isaiah Berlin.  The event will be opened with the screening of the “The Levin Interview” (BBC, 1981) – an interview with Isaiah Berlin. It  will provide a glimpse into his biography, ideas and personal experience. The 11th Berlin Memorial Lecture “Isaiah Berlin, History and the World of Today” will be delivered by Canadian historian, Professor of History at the University of Toronto, Margaret MacMilllan. A special event will also take place during the Isaiah Berlin Day - the opening of the Isaiah Berlin Centre at the National Library of Latvia.

The event is supported by the Representation of the European Commission in Latvia.
